The ICC at Preetam Prakash College of Arts and Commerce was established in 2019-20, in compliance with the guidelines set forth by the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal Act 2013 and UGC guideline 2016. Since its inception, the ICC has played a crucial role in promoting awareness, fostering a culture of respect, and ensuring the well-being of every member of our academic community.

Objectives of an Internal Complaints Cell (ICC) –

1. Ensure Safe Environment: Cultivate an atmosphere free from discrimination, harassment, and misconduct.
2. Raise Awareness: Promote understanding and awareness about discrimination and harassment issues.
3. Prompt, Fair Resolution: Address complaints promptly and fairly, ensuring impartial investigations and resolutions.
4. Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality throughout the complaint resolution process.
5. Promote Respectful Culture: Foster a culture valuing mutual respect, dignity, and diversity.
6. Compliance, Improvement: Ensure legal compliance and continuously improve ICC processes and procedures.

Roles of the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC):

1. Reception and Addressing: Receive and address complaints related to discrimination, harassment, or misconduct confidentially.
2. Impartial Resolution: Conduct fair and impartial investigations, working towards confidential resolutions.
3. Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with policies and laws, maintain records, and periodically report to management.
4. Prevention and Improvement: Implement preventive measures, including awareness programs, support for complainants, and continuous enhancement of ICC processes.
